Hip Hop: An Old Argument for A New Approach

It is the dead horse that refuses to go under; it is the double edged sword that struggles to determine who its real enemy is; it’s the needle in the haystack that we continue drop back into that pile even after rigorously sifting through the trash to find it.

Like it or not, I know that the term alone evokes an array of emotions that range anywhere between absolute disgust and jubilant praise. No matter how much the self-proclaimed elite may haughtily label attempts to defend the culture as a fruitless peeing contest, hip hop remains at the nexus of our culture for a reason: it is one of the most powerful gems of urban America.
