Church transformed into courthouse

Have a warrant, summons or minor violation? Head to church to have it all straightened out.

Thanks to a pilot program called Project Safe Surrender, individuals with outstanding warrants for non-violent violations – such as drinking in public or jumping subway turnstiles – were able to turn themselves in at a makeshift courtroom at St. Paul’s Community Baptist Church on Hendrix Street in East New York.
